boon or a bane?

I had received an email from my friend for the umpteenth time asking me to join the sms group so tat u can send emails through the net and he will get it as an sms. I had a hard time explaning him that i dont have a cell. He was plainly not willing to accept it, he was like "dude, dont tell me u dont have a cell phone, its been 3 months since u have been there man! How can u be like detached from the world like this?"

hmm, that was the mooting point for this post! Has mobile phones become the logical extension of ur fingers that we always need to carry it with us? I used to remember back in India, i was feeling weird if i didnt carry my cell with me for a day! But now living in an "detached" world as opposed to nokia's "connected" world, i think y on earth I need a mobile phone?

Its not that i get calls of national importance tat i should surely pick it up for sake of the country's security or its gonna b a gal who would all of a sudden find something interesting to talk to me? Atmost the worst thing could happen is that my parents were tryin to reach me and i wasnt there to pick it up.Which is a rarity coz i call them. May b an answering machine should fix tat probs. hopefully!

By now i see almost every person when walking on the roads here always talk on their cell. I dont know how they manage to do it...especially the gals, who r always seen blah..blahin on their phones, which I am not sayin is wrong. But God the cell phone companies should b rakin in billions of $$$s r wat...And this doesnt seem like one industry that is going to show losses...A nice stock market tip on where u should b puttin ur money :)

May b the use of cell phones have increased the communcation b/w ppl i hope to believe.But i guess its more of a nuisance at sometimes.I remember one of my friends getting an idiotic call when he was in a crucial discussion with his prof. hmm, mobile phones and right timings r mutually exclusive. When u want someone or anyone to call no one will and u will have to call urself. But when u dont want to b disturbed, it is almost certain that some1 will surely b there for u :)
